Cardiac Scoring

Cardiac scoring involves assessing the presence of calcium in the  arteries of the heart (coronary arteries).  The amount of calcium in these arteries correlates with the likelihood of  disease and blockage which may lead to heart attacks.  Blockages in the coronary arteries are often caused by a build up of calcium plaque in these arteries that supply blood to the heart.

Our state of the art CT machines allow our radiologists to provide you with a cardiac score within minutes.  The procedure is completely non-invasive and painless and does not involve injections.

With the information obtained by the Calcium score, your doctor will be able to assess your risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) and decide on the best treatment options for you.
