CT Scan

Computerized Tomography

A “CT” or “CAT” scan is a diagnostic procedure that uses an ultra-thin beam of x-rays to generate detailed cross-sectional images of the body.  It is a mainstay of diagnostic imaging and provides invaluable information about the organs of the body.  CT Angiography (CTA) gives information about the blood vesses in the body and brain, and can diangose things such as aneurysms.

CT scanning is a painless procedure that can usually be performed in approximately 15 minutes.   Some CT scans require the use of an injectable Iodine contrast, which will enhance the images.
